explain plate or disc clutches


  1. plate or disc clutches: 

A single plate or disc clutches type  are presented with both sides of friction material is mounted
on the hub which made to move/displace freely along to axially. There is also a pressure plate present inside the clutch body which is fit on the flywheel with the help of nut.


Both of them flywheel and pressure plate rotate with the crankshaft or driving shaft. 

Multiple disc clutch:

 Multiple disc clutch are mostly used one in large torque transmission. multiple disc clutch consist of  driving shaft which is fastened with the disc present inside to it, which used  to permit the required quantity/amount of axial motion. this method used in cars, machine tools etc..
